Gitxsan Development Corporation Opens New Prince George Operational Hub, Enhancing Northern BC Service Capacity

PRINCE GEORGE, BC (April 7, 2026) – The Gitxsan Development Corporation (GDC) is proud to announce the official opening of its new operational yard in Prince George, British Columbia, effective April 1, 2026. Located within the Tyrod Industries Ltd. yard, this strategic expansion will significantly bolster GDC's service capabilities across Northern and Central British Columbia.

The new yard will serve as a crucial staging and dispatch point for GDC's two key subsidiaries: Gitxsan Safety Service and Gitxsan Environmental Service. Housing a comprehensive fleet of trucks and specialized equipment, the facility will enable GDC to mobilize crews and resources more efficiently, leading to significantly expanded operational capacity, improved response times, and an enhanced ability to support existing and future projects throughout the region. While administrative functions will continue to be managed from GDC's primary offices, this yard will be key to GDC's strategic growth.

From this new Prince George base, GDC will now be able to expand its service range in all directions, providing better support for its partnership with the McLeod Lake Indian Band and reaching critical areas such as Quesnel, Hixon, Williams Lake, Vanderhoof, Chetwynd, and Mackenzie.

"The opening of our Prince George operational yard marks a significant milestone for the Gitxsan Development Corporation. This strategic location will dramatically enhance our ability to mobilize resources, improve response times, and ultimately provide superior service to our clients and partners, including our valued relationship with the McLeod Lake Indian Band, across Northern and Central British Columbia. It's a testament to our growth and our dedication to supporting the region's development.”
